Sullivan Brothers Outstanding Military Family Award

The Grout Museum District, 503 South St., is accepting nominations for the Sullivan Brothers Outstanding Military Family Award.

The purpose of the award is to recognize and honor military families with three or more members who have demonstrated exemplary community service, and have sacrificed to uphold the home and family through — and in support of — their loved one’s service to our country.

The winner of the award will be announced at “Welcome Home Veterans” the four-year anniversary event for the Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum on Saturday, Nov. 17. Nomination forms may be picked up at the Grout Museum District or downloaded from the website, www.IowaVeteransMuseum.org. Nominations are due by Monday, Oct. 26.

The price for attending “Welcome Home Veterans” includes admission to the event and dinner with dessert table and entertainment. There will also be a silent auction, raffle, cork pull and more. The event will be held at the Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum, 503 South St., Waterloo, on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 6-10 p.m. Cost for the event is $35 per person, which covers admission, entertainment and refreshments. There will also be a cash bar.

Honor Your Veteran

Bring the family to the Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Musuem and watch your veteran's interview in our theater. You will receive a free DVD of the full interview plus another gift for the veteran. Extra DVDs will be available for $7 per DVD if picked up, and $9 per DVD if mailed.


After watching the interview, take time to visit the Veterans Museum!
