ThanksUSA Scholarships for dependent children and spouses of U.S. military personnel

I am happy to blog about this, I love finding money for colleges! For 2011, ThanksUSA's scholarship program accepts applications from April 1st to May 16th.  They provide financial need-based scholarships to children and spouses of U.S. military personnel. It has been going on for 6 years. ThanksUSA has awarded 2,200 scholarships worth almost $6.5 million and plans to award 500 scholarships at $3,000 each in 2011.

These awards are granted to dependent children and spouses are for first-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical  school. Spouses may also use the award for non-degree licensure/certification programs, regardless of whether an undergraduate degree has already been completed.

This year Kaplan University is proud to offer a full undergraduate scholarship through ThanksUSA for an eligible military spouse. In addition, Educational Support Scholarships, which provide for reduced tuition of up to 51 percent, are also available to eligible military spouses. So please visit them and check out and see if it applies to you!

  1. Hi! I came across your blog through blog hopping. And saw this post under "You might also like..." features. Our children were blessed to have received scholarships through Thanks USA, my hubby even won a trip to London in the first year's "Treasure hunt" (with my hubby's military commitment/schedule, we were not able to accept it, but still it was exciting to have had the possible opportunity...our kids are grown now, but we like to tease him about the missed trip lol), and I have done an illustration for one of their treasure hunt books. :o) The girls that thought of this and their parents are truly amazing!

    Blessings & Aloha!
So nice to "meet" you here in blog world! If you get a chance to visit, please leavea comment so that I know you were by :o)
