Day of Service happening on MLK Day

What is the MLK Day of Service? Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?'"  Each year, Americans across the country answer that question by coming together on the King Holiday to serve their neighbors and communities.

The MLK Day of Service is a part of United We Serve, the President's national call to service initiative. It calls for Americans from all walks of life to work together to provide solutions to our most pressing national problems.

So what will you be doing for your day of service? I think I will be volunteering to put together care packages for the troops in my husband's unit. Yes he is only in S. Korea but just like him there are hundreds of soliders in S. Korea without their families. Yes they are over there serving but they are also protecting S. Korea in case of an event with the North. So I am always supporting the troops, it's just this troop is a little special to me.
